Maryland Chiefs of Police Association, Inc.Working to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Maryland Since 1961.The purpose of this Association shall be to support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America and the State of Maryland; to promote and foster the enforcement of law and order; to increase the effectiveness of the police profession and enhance public confidence in the police; and to improve the quality of life in the communities that we serve. As a leader in your organization, you have the tremendous opportunity and responsibility to ensure your communities are safe and that your employees have the support they need to do a very difficult job. The MCPA provides training, advocacy and support to our members and their agencies to help them be successful. Our Annual Training Conference has become renowned for its first rate presentations on current critical issues we face. Through our Legislative Committee, our association has been able to play an important role in shaping legislation that protects our communities. Our outreach with private security organizations ensures that we are capitalizing on this important resource. In short, the MCPA and its various committees are working hard to help you do your job. The Association is also very active in the community, supporting Special Olympics, the National Law Enforcement Memorial, and scholarships for high school graduates. Join TodayWho is MCPA?The Maryland Chief of Police Association is comprised of Executive law enforcement officers from State, Local and Federal Agencies, prosecutors and police legal advisors, members of the Maryland Police Training Commission, private sector security directors and interested citizens. We are a membership based organization of law enforcement executives who work tirelessly on behalf of our members and our communities in several critical areas: Legislative and Legal Advocacy, Training and Member Services. Our active engagement on issues of public safety policy has allowed our association to effectively work with our State Senators and Delegates in Annapolis on legislation that impacts legal, social, and budgetary issues. MCPA is recognized as the voice of law enforcement advocacy on behalf of local law enforcement in Maryland. MCPA also provides contemporary training to law enforcement leaders statewide, ensuring our members remain current on leading issues as well as preparing the next generation of Maryland's law enforcement executives.
