Message from the President - Chief Melissa Hyatt

Dear Fellow Maryland Law Enforcement Executives;

It is with humility and gratitude that I move into the office of President.  I would like to thank past President Chief John Nesky for his leadership over an extended term. His work in leading our Executive Board has demonstrated how a true leader guides an organization through turbulent times.

As we enter this upcoming year with many of the same obstacles and challenges ahead, we will continue to develop real solutions to managing the continuing pandemic, ensuring compliance with recent and upcoming legislation, and addressing the difficulties of maintaining our workforce.

The Maryland Chiefs of Police Association is more important now than ever before as our profession becomes more complex. The fact remains, however, that we must be the advocates for our future and we cannot waver in that commitment.

I encourage you to remain involved in our organization. Through attending meetings, joining committees, or providing continued vital input and support, your participation is crucial. Just as those who came before us, the work we do today will benefit the next generation of law enforcement professionals across the great State of Maryland.

I look forward to the accomplishments we will achieve together this year.

Respectfully,

Chief Melissa Hyatt
President, Maryland Chiefs of Police Association
