Award Ceremony – 8:00 a.m.

The award ceremony is from 8:30 a.m. -10:00 a.m.  Please arrive by 8:00 a.m. so that we can go over the procedures beforehand.  You will be asked to sit as a group (the award winners) up near the front to allow for a quick and easy flow during the ceremony.  Dress is your Class A police Uniform for sworn officers and business attire for civilians.  Seating behind the award winners will be available for family and friends on a first come basis.

The ceremony will be conducted as follows:  During the award presentation, your name will be called for the specific award.  You should leave your seat and proceed to the area designated where you will receive the award.  During the award presentation, a video will be played with an announcer reciting the award and why you were selected.  A montage of photographs (provided by you or your agency) will play on the video screen.  As you receive your award, photographs will be taken of you receiving the award from the Maryland Chiefs/Sheriff Representative and your agency representative if present.  These photographs will be taken by our photographer.  You will not be asked to speak.  After the photographs and award presentation and at the end of your portion of the video you are to return to your seat.

Immediately following the ceremony, we will offer additional photo opportunities for you and your family.  We ask that family and friends refrain from coming up to take photographs during the actual ceremony.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, you will be on your own.  We do however offer additional meals for you and your guest.

A CD of the video presentation will be available for you at the conclusion of the ceremony or can be mailed to you.
