The Maryland Chiefs of Police Association Award Winner Itinerary Congratulations on your award!
Check In – Sunday, September 7, 2025 Reservations are being made in your name at the Ashore Resort & Beach Club for Sunday, September 7th and Monday, September 8th, 2025, by our Conference Committee. The Ashore Resort & Beach Club is located at 10100 Coastal Highway, Ocean City, Maryland. The phone number for the hotel is 410-524-3535. Check in is at 4 p.m. for the hotel. You may be able to arrive and check in earlier if the room is available. Each award winner is offered a two-night stay for you and your guest. All events, including meals, will be at the hotel - we have the entire hotel reserved for our conference.We will have a conference registration desk on site Sunday (starting at 2:00 PM) and Monday morning. Please check in at the conference desk as you and your guest will receive a name tag that allows you access to the events and meals. When checking in, please make sure to identify yourself as an award winner and one of the Award Committee members will greet you, provide a quick briefing on what to expect, and answer any questions you may have. If you plan on bringing anyone above and beyond the complimentary number (more than your one guest) we must be notified. ** See below for more specific information on additional guests. You will be responsible for costs associated to those extra guests. Dinner – Sunday, September 7, 2025 A complimentary dinner for you and your guest will be available Sunday night at the hotel during the President’s Reception. The reception is from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom (vendor area) and attire for the dinner is business casual (slacks and polo). Breakfast – Monday, September 8, 2025 A complimentary breakfast is offered to you and your guest in the Grand Ballroom (vendor area) from 7:00 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. Award Ceremony – Monday, September 8, 2025 The award ceremony is from 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. in the Crystal Ballroom. Please arrive by 8:00 a.m. and meet with the Awards Committee Chair so that we can go over the procedures beforehand. You will be asked to sit near the front to allow for a quick and easy flow during the ceremony. Dress is your “Class A” police uniform for sworn officers and business attire for civilians. The ceremony will be conducted as follows: During the award presentation, your name will be called for the specific award. You should leave your seat and proceed to the designated area where you will receive your award. During the awards presentation, a video will be played with an announcer reciting the award and the reason you were selected. The photographs you provided will also be displayed at this time. As you receive your award, photographs will be taken of you receiving the award from the President of the Maryland Chiefs of Police Association and your agency representative (if present). These photographs will be taken by our photographer. You will not be asked to speak. After the photographs/award presentation, at the end of your portion of the video, you may return to your seat. Immediately following the ceremony, we will offer additional photo opportunities for you and your family. We ask that family and friends refrain from coming up to take photographs during the actual ceremony. At the conclusion of the ceremony, you will be on your own. We do however offer additional meals for you and your guest. A copy of the entire video presentation will be available at a later date. Lunch – Monday, September 8, 2025 Lunch is available for you and your guest in the Grand Ballroom (vendor area) from 10:45 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Attire is business casual (slacks and polo). Dinner – Monday, September 8, 2025 Dinner is available for you and your guest from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Atlantic Ball Room. This will be a “Seafood Feast” and dress is casual (not business casual). Award winners are to arrive at 6:00 p.m. for special early reserved seating. This allows you and your guest early entry to the dinner, which means first in line for the seafood! Breakfast – Tuesday, September 9, 2025 A complimentary breakfast is offered to you and your guest in the Grand Ballroom (vendor area) from 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. Attire is casual. Hospitality Room The conference will have a hospitality room set up in the pool area at the hotel. You and your guest are invited to come and enjoy complimentary drinks starting at 9 p.m. on both Sunday and Monday night. The room is adjacent to the lounge area, and we will have the entire area for our use. Any additional guests may purchase a credential to access this area. Additional Guests Some of you have asked to bring an additional guest (such as a child or additional family member). Additional guests can attend the award ceremony at no charge, but they must be credentialed. We ask that once you arrive at the conference; please go to the Conference Reservation Desk on the Mezzanine Level. Advise the member working the reservation desk the names of your additional guest(s) and they will provide them with a name tag. If your additional guest(s) wants to attend the President’s Reception on Sunday evening and the meals on Monday, there is a charge to cover the cost of the meals. The charge listed below is what the organization pays to the hotel to cover the costs of the meals. President’s Reception $65.00 Breakfast (M, T or W) $30.00 Lunch (M, T or W) $48.00 Seafood Feast—Monday $86.00 Dinner Banquet—Wednesday $94.00 Access to Social Networking / Hospitality Area (S, M, T & W) $40.00 We will need to know how many of the above meals your guest(s) plan to take advantage of and will request payment at the time of registration for the meals they choose. Payment may be in the form of cash, check, or credit card. Checks should be made payable to “MCPA”.
